The Institute for Religion and Health and the Department of Religious Studies at Rice University have jointly offered conferences which focus on themes shared by the disciplines related to medicine and religion.
The Psychotherapy and Faith conference has explored a variety of issues including love, joy, hope, healing, forgiveness, and the dynamics of storytelling. This past year the Conference explored "Healing the Healer: Renewing Ourselves for the Benefit of Others". These topics have evolved from past course comments, a multi-disciplinary planning committee, and the writings of expert caregivers from all walks of life, especially medicine and religion.
